POMONA, NJ – Senior Paul Bahamondes (Jackson, NJ/Jackson) bested his own school record in the 8-kilometer by running a 27:16.74, while leading the Scarlet Raiders to a fifth place finish at the New Jersey Athletic Conference men's cross country championships hosted by Richard Stockton College.

The Jackson, NJ native, who also owns the school's 6-kilometer mark with a time of 20:32.96, placed 21st in a field of 46. Bahamondes has led all Rutgers-Newark harriers in each of the squad's five meets this season.
Sophomore Tauqeer Qazi (Jersey City, NJ/McNair) and junior DaQuan Bashir (Trenton, NJ/Trenton Central) each ran season-best times of 27:44.36 and 28:01.98, to finish 25th and 27th, respectively, while senior Robert Ezewuiro (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) also recorded a season-best time in the 8-K, crossing the tape at 29:02.60.
Freshman Owen Parani (Union City, NJ/Union Hill) rounded out the Scarlet Raiders' scorers, finishing 34th with a career-best time of 29:31.92.
