POMONA, NJ – Freshman
Alisha Gray stepped up to give Rutgers-Newark a scoring unit in the CTC Championships, helping the Scarlet Raider finish 11th in a field of a dozen teams on the campus of Richard Stockton College.

A shot put performer who is working out as a member of the cross country team, Gray became the fifth Raider runner when an injury forced sophomore
Krissy Arias to the sidelines. Gray clocked a time of 45:29.61 – coming in ahead of four other runners in the field of 124 – to allow Rutgers-Newark to register a team score in the event.
Senior
Natascha Alves and sophomore
Ania Shiyanova finished 94th and 95th, respectively, with times of 29:40.54 and 29:58.18 on the6-kilometer course to pace the Raider effort.
Junior
Selamawit Rutty (35:04.63) and freshman
Saymah Nah (37:07.39) rounded out the Raider effort as the squad finished ahead of NCAA D-II Cheyney State.
Rutgers-Newark now has two weeks to prepare for the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships on the same course. The women's race will begin at 10:30 a.m. on October 31.
