POMONA, NJ – Junior
Tauqeer Qazi became the first Rutgers-Newark runner to earn all-conference honors as the Scarlet Raiders placed sixth among seven teams in the New Jersey Athletic Conference Cross Country Championship on the campus of Richard Stockton.

Qazi made the All-NJAC second team by finishing 13th with a time of 27:43.74 on the 8-kilometer course to become the first Scarlet Raider to make the squad in the three-year history of the cross country program.
Junior
DaQuan Bashir finished 25th in 28:44.10 and senior
Robert Ezewuiro ran a personal-best time of 29:07.64 to finish third among Scarlet Raiders runners and 35th overall in the field of 82.
Rounding out the scoring for Rutgers-Newark were freshman
Mohamed Gadalla (49th, 30:07.10) and sophomore
Rolland Ying (50th, 30:10.95).
Rutgers-Newark now has two weeks to prepare for the NCAA Regional Championship.
