NEWARK, NJ – Sophomore
Marcin Midura has been named the EIVA Hay Player of the Week for his play in Rutgers-Newark's 3-0 sweep of NYU last week.
The 6-foot-4 outside hitter contributed match highs of 12 kills and six digs while hitting .375 in the Scarlet Raiders' 30-18, 30-22, 30-21 victory. He also added two assisted blocks, a solo block and an ace the Rutgers-Newark (6-9, EIVA Hay 5-0) extended its winning streak to five matches.
He becomes the third consecutive player of the week from the Raider roster joining junior setter
Jeff Zornig and senior middle hitter
Jon Keller as the last three picks for the honor.
Rutgers-Newark hosts IPFW on Friday and Ball State on Saturday in The Golden Dome in a pair of non-conference matches. First serve is set for 7 o'clock each night.
