NORTHAMPTON, MA – Freshmen Alisha Gray bettered her own Rutgers-Newark record in the shot put with a throw of 12.34 meters to take sixth place at the ECAC Indoor Championships hosted by Smith College.

The rookie erased her week old mark of 11.97 set at the NYU Fastrack Invitational exactly a week before. 

In the first day of competition, freshman sprinter Saymah Nah clocked a 7.43 in the 55-meter dash to finish 10th in a field of 24 runners and set a new R-N standard.  On Saturday, she cruised to a time of 26.78 in the 200-meter dash.
