Raymond Postadan put up a battle on the top-flight singles court, but Rutgers-Newark fell, 9-0, to Western Connecticut State on the Westside Courts.

Postadan took the Colonials' John Phillips to three sets before falling, 6-1, 5-7, 6-3, as the Scarlet Raiders slipped to 0-7 on the year. Western Connecticut improved to 7-0.
Rutgers-Newark hosts Hunter at 1 p.m. on The Golden Dome Courts on Saturday.
