Jessica Gavilanes have been named the 2010 captains for the Rutgers-Newark women's soccer team by new head coach
Bill Bustamante.
Neves, a starter in every match for the past two seasons as a midfielder or defender, is a three-year letterwinner.
Abreu earned All-New Jersey Athletic Conference Honorable Mention last fall as a midfielder-forward after garnering All-NJAC second team and Rutgers-Newark Female Rookie Athlete of the Year laurels as a freshman. She is on pace to rewrite the Raider offensive record book.
Gavilanes is a two-time Honorable Mention All-NJAC selection who has started in every Scarlet Raider match during her career as the team's defensive stopper.
Rutgers-Newark begins its 11th varsity season on Wednesday, September 1, in a 6 p.m. match on Alumni Field against Mount St. Vincent.
