Scarlet Raiders' Work Ethic Impresses New Mentor

Rutgers-Newark Women's Soccer

New head coach Bill Bustamante puts the Raiders through a conditioning drill.
NEWARK, NJ – First-year head coach Bill Bustamante likes what he's been seeing as the Rutgers-Newark women's soccer team prepares for the 2010 season.

“The players reported in good condition and they have worked hard,” the rookie head coach stated.

A dozen veterans bolster the roster, but a strong rookie class should have an immediate impact on the team.

The Scarlet Raiders open their season on September 1 by playing a 6 p.m. match against Mount St. Vincent prior to an 8 o'clock men's contest between Rutgers-Newark and Farmingdale State on Alumni Field.

Nine New Jersey Athletic Conference matches highlight the 19-match schedule with also includes the Scarlet Raider Soccer Classic on Alumni Field on September 10 and 11.
