GALLOWAY, NJ – Josephine Polynice and Jane Cho ran personal bests to help Rutgers-Newark finish fifth among seven teams at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Championship on the campus of Richard Stockton College.

2012 NJAC Women's Cross Country Championship Results

Polynice, Cho and LaSha Johnson each posted times that rated among the top 10 in Rutgers-Newark's brief history on the 6-kilometer course with 89 runners competing.

Polynice (57th, 26:55.65) shaved over two minutes off of her time at last week's CTC Championship to post the fourth fastest time at the distance by a Raider runner.

Cho (63rd, 27:29.69) trimmed over 32 seconds off her personal best – also set last Saturday at the CTCs – to register the fifth best time in the R-N books.  Johnson (68th, 27:55.76), who notched a personal best of 27:45.19 (sixth fast 6-k time at R-N) last weekend, logged the seventh fastest time in Rutgers-Newark history.

Freshmen Sonam Lhadon (74th, 28:57.40) and Danielle Parker (76th, 29:54.99) each broke the 30-minute barrier for the first time to complete the Raider team scoring.

Immediately behind Parker came a cluster of Raiders: Laura Robles (77th, 30:45.48), Sheana Foster (30:48.66) and Megan Krause (30:52.56).  Ashley Canty (86th, 34:26.99) also competed for the Raiders.

Rutgers-Newark caps its season at the NCAA Atlantic Regional on November 10.
