PITMAN, N.J. (February 27, 2018) – Senior thrower
Jenyce Baytops of the Rutgers University-Newark women's track & field team was named to the 2017-18 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Women's Indoor Track & Field all-conference teams, it was announced Tuesday morning by the league office.

Baytops picked up two all-league nods because of her performances in different throwing events, nabbing a second-team All-NJAC honor in the weight throw and an honorable mention award in the shot pot.

The Irvington, N.J. earned Rutgers-Newark 14 team points at the NJAC Championships on February 19 in Staten Island, placing second in the weight throw (eight points) and third in the shot put (six points). Baytops brought home 14 of the squads 23 points, leading the Scarlet Raiders to a fifth-place finish as a team.

Baytops launched a best distance of 13.95 meters in the weight throw and 11.29 meters in the shot put. Her shot distance was the best of her 2017-18 season to date, and her best toss in the weight was 14.00 meters back on December 1, 2017.

In the New Jersey Athletic Conference, all-league honors for track & field are taken directly from results at the NJAC Championships. First place means first-team, second means second-team and third place is honorable mention.

Up Next: Rutgers-Newark will send a group of qualified student-athletes to the upcoming Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships Friday and Saturday in New York City (The Armory). Fans can expect a preview of the championship meet posted Thursday evening.
