R-N Athletic Department Celebrates Division III Week

About Division III Week I About Amazing Grace Organization

NEWARK, N.J. (April 2, 2018)
– The Rutgers University-Newark athletic department has made preparations to celebrate Division III Week 2018 which begins today (April 2) and runs through Sunday April 8.

Division III Week is an annual event that was launched in 2010 to "sharpen the division's identity and to enables schools and conferences to more effectively explain why they prefer to compete in Division III."

Throughout the week, there will be various pieces of content sharing why Raider student-athletes, coaches, and administrators love competing in Division III. From student-athlete social media takeovers to Then and Now posts for coaches, the entire department will help explain what being a part of the Rutgers-Newark athletics family means to them.

On Thursday at 5 p.m., the R-N Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be hosting a BBQ open to the entire campus outside the Paul Robeson Center. SAAC will be putting on this event to celebrate all Scarlet Raider student-athletes while raising money towards the Amazing Grace Organization. The AGO's focus "is on maximizing a cancer patient's quality of life by creating positive and uplifting moments that encourage hope and strength for their journey."
