Joe Furnaguera leads six Rutgers-Newark players honored by the New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association.

Furnaguera, an All-NJAC first-team pick, was named to the All-State Division II-III first team while the junior double-play combination of shortstop
Patrick Reitemeyer and second baseman
Matt Connors earned second team notice.
Named to the third team were senior designated hitter
Anthony Yeswita and junior right-handed pitcher
Billy Cerruti while freshman outfielder/third baseman
Robert Kistner gained a berth on the All-Rookie Team.
Furnaguera, an academic all-America candidate, capped a spectacular career by hitting .381 as a senior with 38 RBIs, a team-high 11 home runs, 10 doubles and five triples. He posted a lofty .713 slugging percentage and had an on-base average of .445. For his career, he hit .320 with 28 home runs and 126 RBIs.
Reitemeyer, who also was a first-team All-NJAC pick, hit .337 with a team-high 51 RBIs and a .552 slugging percentage. He totaled a dozen doubles, four triples and five home runs while stealing nine bases in 11 tries. For his career, he has started in 119 consecutive games while hitting .338 with 109 RBIs, 27 doubles, 10 triples and 10 home runs.
Connors, who has started 119 consecutive games at second base, hit .240 this season while stealing 16 bases in 17 attempts. He committed just three errors in 185 chances while helping to turn 27 double plays. For his career, he is a .357 hitter who has piled up 174 hits and scored 144 runs while stealing 45 bases in 52 tries.
Yeswita hit .338 as a senior to cap four years in Scarlet & Black. For his career, he hit .342 with a .524 slugging percentage buoyed by 49 doubles and 16 home runs. He drove in 140 runs and also drew 72 walks.
Cerruti has a breakout season with a 3.88 ERA and key NJAC wins over Montclair State, The College of New Jersey and William Paterson. He gained Honorable Mention All-NJAC notice after twice being named the conference pitcher of the week during the season.
Kistner, who started nine games at either third base or in leftfield, hit .282 with seven RBIs. He notched an on-base average of .356 while slugging at a .359 rate behind three doubles.
Rutgers-Newark (22-21) finished third in the NJAC regular season race with a record of 11-7 and made its second straight trip to the ECAC Metro Championship Tournament.
