SOPHOMORE (2008-09): Key track & field runner, specializing in the 400-meter dash and relays, who competed in five cross country meets in her first season of intercollegiate competition… R-N Coaches Award Winner for track & field for unselfish dedication to the team… INDOORS: Member of two R-N school-record relay units… ran third leg on 4 x 200-meter relay unit which clocked a school-record 1:53.20 in the NJAC Indoor Championships (2/23/09)… ran anchor leg for 4 x 400-meter relay team which ran a 4:19.59 to set the R-N standard at the Metro Coaches Invitational (1/9/09)… personal best time in the 400-meter dash was 1:03.90 at the NJAC Indoor Championships (2/23/09).
HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered four times at West Orange HS, helping the Mountaineers to back-to-back Northern Hills Conference titles as a junior and a senior.
PERSONAL: An academic junior who walked on to the squad in the fall of 2008… allied health and technologies major… daughter of Janet and Gregory Rutty… third youngest of eight brothers and sisters: Kelly, Shanna, Wolete, Abraha, Menilik, Mekonnen and Dawit… born in the Bronx, NY.
