Andres Bustani was announced as the Head Men's & Women's Tennis Coach at Rutgers University-Newark in January of 2018. Bustani will be in charge of both Scarlet Raider programs.
Bustani comes to Newark after serving as a coach at the Westfield Indoor Tennis Club since February 2017. Prior to coaching at Westfield, he was a trainer for players aged 7-18 at the Crowson International Tennis Academy in Mexico, an assistant for the women's tennis team at his alma mater Lewis-Clark State College, and a coach at the Adidas Tennis Camp hosted by Ramapo College.
Bustani was a four-year member of the men's tennis team that peaked as the 12th-best NAIA program during his time there. In 2016, he was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) scholar-athlete, an honor awarded to student-athletes who are varsity letter winners with a GPA above 3.50.
Bustani graduated from Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Electronic Technology and a minor in Coaching. He earned a 3.55 GPA and made the Dean's List in seven of his eight semesters.
From 2007 to 2012, prior to attending Lewis-Clark, Bustani competed for the Crowson International Tennis Academy and was ranked top-15 in the nation for players 18 and under.
