Jillian Dierenfield (Ankeny, IA/Ankeny) coasted to a 6-0, 6-0 victory in fourth flight singles as a shorthanded Scarlet Raiders squad defeated the Pioneers, 6-3, for their first New Jersey Athletic Conference win of the season.

Monica Iturralde (Kenilworth, NJ/David Brearly) earned a 6-2, 6-1 win while competing in second flight singles in the absence of senior
Nicole Rubinetti (West Orange, NJ/West Orange).
Sophomore
Kelly Fitzsimmons (Middlesex, NJ/Middlesex) rounded out the Scarlet Raiders' top three singles, with a 6-3, 6-4 win over senior
Joanna Jakobik.
Olaya and Fitzsimmons led Rutgers-Newark in doubles play with an 8-3 win over Menzzopane and
Lisa Varacallo in No. 1 doubles, while Iturralde and Dierenfield secured a 8-1 victory in second flight doubles.
Rutgers-Newark returns to action on Friday, October 3, against The College of New Jersey at 4:00 p.m. on the Golden Dome Courts.
