MADISON, NJ – Junior Rose Anna Beljour (Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack HS) and freshman Toni Moppert (Woodcliff Lake, NJ/Pascack Hills) posted 10 kills apiece, but Rutgers-Newark suffered 3-0 losses to Wilkes and FDU-Florham in a non-conference tri-match in the Ferguson Rec Center.

The Scarlet Raiders (2-24) fell to Wilkes (10-19), 25-6, 25-22, 25-13, in the opener before FDU-Florham (20-13) earned a 25-11, 25-15, 25-12 decision in the nightcap.
Beljour and Moppert had five kills apiece in each match while Beljour totaled 18 digs and a service ace. Moppert came up with 17 digs and an ace. Junior libero Val Dauti (West Orange, NJ/West Orange) amassed 22 digs on the day.
Against Wilkes, sophomore setter Gabi Mangieri (West Orange, NJ/West Orange) chalked up 13 assists and added four digs and a pair of assisted blocks while sophomore middle blocker Crystal Navarro (Passaic, NJ/Passaic) contributed four kills and an assisted block.
The Raider recovered from a slow start in set one to hit .292 in the second frame only to lose 25-22. Wilkes hit .318 in the final set to complete the sweep.
Against FDU-Florham, Beljour tallied five kills, a dozen digs and an ace while Dauti came up with 13 digs, but the host Devils hit .205 as a team to post the straight set victory.
Junior outside hitter Tania Cintron (Newark, NJ/Queen of Peace) added four kills and a service ace for the Raiders while Moppert registered five kills and seven digs.
Rutgers-Newark caps its home slate on Saturday hosting Manhattanville and Marywood in a tri-match in The Golden Dome. The Raiders open the day against Manhattanville at 11 a.m.
