GLASSBORO, NJ – Despite seven saves by freshman goalkeeper Kat Renteria (North Bergen, NJ/Cliffside Park) the Scarlet Raiders lost to New Jersey Athletic Conference rival Rowan, 2-0, to fall to 9-7-2 on the season and 2-5-1 in league play.

The Profs, who held a 17-2 shots advantage, opened up scoring when sophomore forward Dana Ross netted an unassisted marker at 33:42. Junior forward Mandy Silvesti would tack on an insurance goal in the 60th minute off of an assist by sophomore forward Michelle Carrocino.
Freshman Liana Abreu (Newark, NJ/Science Park), fresh off of a 2-goal, 2-assist effort in Rutgers-Newark's 11-0 win over St. Elizabeth, and junior defender Sasha Potter (Monroe, NJ/Monroe Twp.) each recorded a shot on goal for the Scarlet Raiders in the loss. Abreu, who ranks second on the team in points with 25, currently ranks first in the NJAC in assists with nine helpers on the season.
Rutgers-Newark will look to equal the program's highest single-season win total when it goes for its tenth victory of the season on Wednesday, October 29th against the College of New Jersey at 7:00 p.m. on Alumni Field.
