Nicole Rubinetti's (West Orange, NJ/West Orange) best efforts in her return to top flight singles competition, Rutgers-Newark fell to 1-3 in New Jersey Athletic Conference play this season following a 9-0 loss to The College of New Jersey.

Rubinetti dropped just her second match of the season, falling to the Lions'
Stefanie Haar, 6-0, 6-3, in top flight singles, while junior
Monica Iturralde (Kenilworth, NJ/David Brearly) lost her first, second flight singles match of the year—and third overall—in a 6-1, 6-1 loss to
Felice Trinh. The duo would also lose its third, top flight doubles match of the season, 8-2, moving their mark to 9-3 on the year.
Rubinetti now holds an 8-2 record in first and second flight singles, while Iturralde is 9-3 in No. 2 and No. 3 singles competition.
Rutgers-Newark will look to bounce back against Baruch on Saturday, October 4th at 2:00 p.m. on the Golden Dome Courts.
