NEWARK, NJ — Senior Nicole Rubinetti (West Orange, NJ/West Orange) and junior Monica Iturralde (Kenilworth, NJ/David Brearley) posted singles wins and teamed to take the No. 1 doubles match, but Baruch used depth to upend the Scarlet Raiders, 6-3, on The Golden Dome Courts.

Rubinetti defeated junior Monica Maiellano, 6-1, 6-0, in top flight singles while Iturralde powered past Irina Piskunova, 6-3, 6-2, in second flight singles, but the Scarlet Raiders dropped their second straight match to fall to 8-5 on the season. The Bearcats are now 7-2.
Iturralde and Rubinetti notched their ninth wit of the season in first flight doubles with an 8-2 win over Maiellano and Sally Ai.
Rubinetti is now 9-2 on the season in first and second flight singles competition, while Iturralde holds a 10-3 mark in second and third flight singles. The tandem is 9-3 in No. 1 doubles play this year.
Rutgers-Newark returns to New Jersey Athletic Conference action tomorrow against Kean at noon on The Golden Dome Courts.
