NEWARK, NJ – Sophomore transfer Anne Olaya (Jersey City, NJ/McNair Academic) upped her first flight singles record to 8-1, with a 6-0, 6-0 win over the Dolphins' Karia Zenkova, while helping Rutgers-Newark to a 9-0 win over a shorthanded Staten Island team that fielded just five players and forfeited No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles.

Senior Nicole Rubinetti (West Orange, NJ/West Orange) captured her seventh, second flight singles victory of the season with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of junior Taylor Moran, while junior Monica Iturralde (Kenilworth, NJ/David Brearly) moved to 8-1 on the year with a 6-0, 6-0 win over sophomore Nancy Almazo.

Sophomore Kelly Fitzsimmons (Middlesex, NJ/Middlesex) cruised to a victory with a 6-0, 6-1 win over junior Fabiana Iannuzzi, while freshman Jillian Dierenield (Ankeny, IA/Ankeny) wrapped up singles action with a decisive 6-0, 6-0 win over sophomore Qing Li in No. 5 singles.

Rubinetti and Iturralde led the charge in first flight doubles, with an 8-0 victory over Zenkova and Moran, while Olaya and Fitzsimmons notched their seventh victory of the season in second flight doubles with an 8-2 decision over Almazo and Iannuzzi.

Rutgers-Newark returns to action on Wednesday, September 24th when it plays host to Stevens Tech at 4:30 p.m. on the Golden Dome Courts.
