GALLOWAY, N.J. (October 17, 2018) – The Rutgers University-Newark women's tennis team returned to New Jersey Athletic Conference action this afternoon, falling at Stockton University 9-0. The Scarlet Raiders move to 1-9 (0-4 NJAC) while the Ospreys improve to 6-3 (3-2 NJAC) on the season.
In doubles action, the visitors struggled and found themselves down 3-0 headed into singles play. Junior

Bryanna Thaxton put up the best fight at no. 1 doubles but lost 8-3.
Karpinski also had the closest at the top singles position. She took her opponent to 5-5 in the opening set before falling 7-5 and eventually dropping the matchup in straight sets.
"Stockton was a very consistent team that was a tough matchup for us today." said Head Coach
Andres Bustani, "We're looking forward to recovering quickly from this match and resetting before another league contest on Friday."
The Raiders continue their NJAC slate on Friday at William Paterson with the match scheduled for a 4 p.m. start.
