NEWARK, NJ | The Rutgers University- Newark women's soccer team suffered their second loss of the season at the hands of Rowan University, 3-1. With the loss the Scarlet Raiders move to 6-2, 0-2 NJAC.
Rowan got the scoring started at the 22nd minute of the first half. The Profs extended their lead with a penalty kick that found the top left corner of the net and capped off the first half scoring with another goal right before the halftime whistle.

Ettayebi also led the team with five shots, four of which found the frame. Tamia Howell also managed to attempt three shots, one finding the frame and forcing the Rowan keeper to make a hard save.
After coming on at halftime, Freshman keeper Gillian Reese did not give up a goal and made two saves to keep the Scarlet Raiders fighting for a comeback.
The women look to bounce back on Wednesday, September 29 when they visit New Jersey City University for another NJAC matchup at 4:00pm.
