#RUNWBB Stalls Against William Paterson

WAYNE, NJ | The Rutgers University-Newark women's basketball team struggled offensively against William Paterson this afternoon in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) and fell, 72-30.

Rutgers-Newark (3-12, 1-10) was led by Brya Byrd and Lourdes Marasigan who each recorded six points. Fancy Janvier cleaned the boards for the Scarlet Raiders and led the team with eight.

William Paterson (9-6, 6-3) received 15 points from Yakira Rosa while Mackenzie O'Brien added 11 points and a team-high 9 rebounds.

The Pioneers opened the game with 25 points, their highest quarter of the game, while holding the Scarlet Raiders eight. Rutgers-Newark couldn't get their offense going all game and were held to a season-low 30 points. Out of the break, Rutgers-Newark tried to break out of the ice but despite scoring a game-high 9 points, they were unable to get a rally going.

Rutgers-Newark will look to bounce back on Wednesday when they host Kean at 6:00 pm at The Golden Dome.
