Zaleck, Quay, & Umlauf Earn NJAC Weekly Honors

PITMAN, NJ | The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) and the Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) released its weekly winners and Rutgers University-Newark had three recipients on the list. 

Andrew Zaleck once again won NJAC & CVC Player of the Week after helping the Scarlet Raiders take down No. 12 Marymount in four sets. In that match, he tallied a team-high 21 kills with a .289 hit percentage. Against Misericordia, Zaleck posted his best hit percentage of the week, recording a percentage of .467 with 10 kills. Against Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) foe, Randolph-Macon, he secured 13 kills to lead the Scarlet Raiders past Randolph-Macon in straight sets.

Daniel Quay once again earned himself another NJAC Defensive Player of the week nod. Quay started his week against Misericordia where he hit a blistering .667 with six kills while adding a block and a dig. Quay stepped it up a notch against Marymount and tallied 8 kills before recording six blocks and 7 kills against Randolph-Macon.

Madison Umlauf picked up her first NJAC Rookie of the Week award for her collegiate career after having a quality trip to South Carolina for the FastPitch Dreams Spring Classic. During the trip, Umlauf went 8-for-18 with 6 RBI while scoring four runs with three doubles. In that span, she struck out just twice and totaled 11 bases.
