MAHWAH, NJ - The Rutgers-Newark men's track & field team wrapped up their participation in the Ramapo Invitational with a series of solid performances, including notable efforts in both the field events and middle-distance races.

In the hammer throw, Hunter Eldridge led the Scarlet Raiders with a mark of 36.48 meters, showcasing his consistency and strength in a competitive field. Eldridge's performance added valuable depth to the team's efforts in the throwing events, contributing important points for Rutgers-Newark.

Teammate Azor Chareyre also competed in the hammer throw, posting a mark of 29.57 meters. While not as far as Eldridge's throw, Chareyre's performance still highlighted his commitment and effort, helping to round out the team's presence in the event.

On the track, Daniel Cortez demonstrated his versatility by competing in both the 1,500 meters and the 800 meters. In the 1,500 meters, Cortez pushed through a competitive field, showing his endurance and tactical awareness. Later, he transitioned to the 800 meters, where he displayed his speed and strength over the shorter middle-distance race. While specific times were not immediately available, Cortez's ability to compete in two demanding events on the same day illustrated his fitness and dedication.

As the Ramapo Invitational concluded, the Rutgers-Newark team continued to demonstrate their talent and determination across a variety of disciplines. The performances from Eldridge, Chareyre, and Cortez solidified the Scarlet Raiders' competitive presence, and they will look to build on these efforts as the season progresses.
