SAAC "Read Across America"

NEWARK, NJ - For Read Across America Week, the Rutgers-Newark Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) did a Celebrity Read Event at Franklin Elementary, once again giving back to the local Newark community.

"The Celebrity Read Event, at Franklin Elementary here in Newark, is one of the days that all of our SAAC Members look forward to," said SAAC President and baseball student-athlete Gil Prial. "It is a great opportunity for us to give back to the community and the school is always so grateful to have us. The young students are always a blast and you can't beat the look in their eyes when we all show up. This year we had baseball, softball, and women's soccer all help out and read to the kids. It truly never gets old and I hope that it's a tradition for years to come."
