Scarlet Raiders Drop NJAC Contest on Senior Day

NEWARK, N.J. - Rutgers-Newark celebrated Senior Day on Saturday afternoon at The Golden Dome before tipping off against Rowan University in New Jersey Athletic Conference action. Prior to the game, the Scarlet Raiders honored seniors Quanajah Felder, Jaielyn Alston, Emily Leiras, and Sanaa Brodie, recognizing their dedication and leadership as they made their final home appearance in the Golden Dome.

Rowan established control early, building a 19–11 lead at the end of the first quarter behind efficient shooting and transition scoring. Rutgers–Newark showed improved rhythm in the second quarter, but the Profs maintained a 34–25 advantage heading into halftime.

The Profs came out strong in the third quarter, shooting 53% from the field while holding Rutgers–Newark to just 10 points in the frame. The surge allowed Rowan to extend its lead to 59–35 entering the final period.

The fourth quarter was evenly matched, with both teams scoring 19 points. Despite the late push, it was too little, too late for the Scarlet Raiders, as Rowan secured the 78–54 victory.

Felder led the way for Rutgers–Newark with 19 points and three steals, while Arlenny Medina added 10 points off the bench to provide a spark for the Scarlet Raiders.
