PROFILE OF THE WEEK (Oct. 12, 2011)

SENIOR (2011):  Top Raider finisher in the first five meets of the year, finishing in the top three on the squad  in all seven events… finished second in a field of 35 runners in a time of 29:20.18 to pace R-N to the team championship at the Brandywine Invitational (10/8/11)… cracked the 30-minute barrier three times including a personal best of 29:07.08 at the CTC Championships (10/15/11)… finished seventh in a field of 71 runners in a time of 30:58.26 on the 5-mile course to help the Raiders finish third among nine teams in the Belmont Classic (10/1/11).

JUNIOR (2010):  Competed in all six of the Raiders’ 8K meets, figuring in the team scoring in each… ran a personal-best time of 28:59.15 at the NJAC Championships (10/30/10)… capped season with a time of 29:24.10 at the NCAA Atlantic Regionals (11/13/10)… finished 11th in a field of 87 runners in a time of 31:50.56 to help R-N post its first-ever team title at the Belmont Classic (10/2/10).

SOPHOMORE (2009): Finished among top five R-N runners in all six of the races he competed in… capped season with a personal-best 29:19.90 in the NCAA Regionals (11/14/09)… clocked a 29:31.76 at the CTC Championship (10/17/09).

FRESHMAN (2007): 2007 MVP of cross country team at Kean University… lettered twice in track & field for the Cougars.

HIGH SCHOOL: Two-year letterwinner in cross country and track at East Brunswick HS… helped junior team to a 7-0 record and Greater Middlesex County and Group 4 Red Division titles as a junior… senior squad went 6-1.

PERSONAL: Distance specialist for the R-N indoor and outdoor track & field squads... son of David Ying… has an older sister Christine, a younger sister Mona, and a younger brother William… born in Queens, NY.
