Biography

JUNIOR (2009): Received Coaches Award for dedication to the team while posting a 5-5 singles mark and a 5-4 doubles record... played a team-high seven tie-breakers in singles, winning four in the extra sessions. 

SOPHOMORE (2008): Helped Rutgers-Newark to a 6-4 record by posting a 5-4 singles mark on flights 5 and 6 and registering a 3-3 mark in doubles with three different partners... won three of his final four singles and doubles matches. 

FRESHMAN (2007): A starter in doubles play, posting a 6-5 record on flights 2 and 3... went 1-1 in sixth-flight singles for the 5-6 team. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Helped Clifton HS to a combined record of 28-13 as a junior and senior… Mustangs went 15-6 in his junior year, then 13-7 in 2006… Clifton upended Belleville in playoffs his senior season… also captained swimming team, helping Mustangs to league championship… lettered four times in swimming… also was a sergeant in the school’s marching band…a member of the National Honor Society.

PERSONAL: Trained with the Rutgers-Newark cross country and indoor track & field teams this fall and winter, competing in one cross country meet and an indoor track meet as a member of the Raider relay team... his aunt Johann Barbera played tennis at Rutgers-Newark.
