PROFILE OF THE WEEK (October 8, 2010)
SOPHOMORE (2011): Went 10-1 on the No. 1 singles court in dual match competition for the 6-6 Raiders… ran off an 8-3 doubles record on the top flight with three difference partners… split a pair of matched in the NJAIAW Championship… went 4-1 in NJAC singles play with wins against Rutgers-Camden (9/10/11), Ramapo (9/13/11), Richard Stockton (10/7/11) and Kean (10/13/11)… missed the TCNJ (9/18/11) match.
FRESHMAN (2010): 2011 Rutgers-Newark Female Rookie of the Year… 2010 NJAC Rookie of the Year… 2010 All-NJAC (first team)… three time NJAC Rookie of the Week (Sept. 19, Sept. 26 and Oct. 3.)… first Raider NJAC Rookie of the Year since 2002 when R-N Hall of Famer Jayne DeMichele claimed the award… first Raider All-NJAC first team selection since Nicole Rubinetti made the 2007 roster… won her final seven top-flight singles matches to post a sterling 8-2 record in dual match play… split two matches on the top flight of the NJAIAW Championship Tournament to push her overall singles mark to 9-3… teamed with classmate Agnes Bangayan on the top flight doubles court for a 7-3 mark… went 4-1 in NJAC play with her only loss coming to TCNJ sophomore NJAC Player of the Year Karisse Bendijo in the first match of her collegiate career.
HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year letterwinner in tennis at Atlantic City HS… helped Vikings to four straight winning seasons and a cumulative record of 46-14… an honor roll student.
PERSONAL: Born in Pakistan… daughter of Tariq and Nasim Memon… has three older sisters (Sonia, Sehrish and Moomal).
