Smego has been named the Head Coach of the Rutgers University-Newark men's and women's tennis program in 2020.
Smego, formerly the Rutgers-Newark assistant coach, has elevated to the head coach position and will look to continue improving upon the building blocks from previous seasons.
He was a four-year standout tennis player at Drew University where he earned First Team All-Conference Doubles all four years. Smego graduated with a degree in Biology and a minor in Economics.
As a coach, Smego will look to draw on his past experience as a coach and his NCAA Tournament appearances as a captain of his squad to help lead the Scarlet Raiders to new heights.
