Diana Pielech is in her second season in 2019 as an assistant coach with the Rutgers University-Newark softball coaching staff.
Pielech comes to Newark after numerous stints as a high school assistant and a standout career at fellow New Jersey Athletic Conference school William Paterson University. Most recently, Pielech served as the assistant coach at Cranford High School where she was responsible for coaching the varsity pitchers as well as the junior varsity squad. Prior to that, Pielech spent five years with the Immaculate Heart Academy where they won four consecutive league championships, three county championships, and a pair of state championships. Starting in August 2015 and continuing today, Pielech is a coach and curriculum developer for Special Olympics: Play Unified.
While at William Paterson Pielech earned numerous awards and accolades including All-NJAC, All-Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), and Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year in addition to serving as a team captain for all four seasons.
