    Assistant Coach
Beginning her third year on the Scarlet Raider staff, assistant coach Jenn Whitley brings a NCAA Division I experience as a player to the Scarlet Raider program. A standout shortstop on the collegiate level, she will work primarily with the infielders.

She came to Newark after serving for two seasons as an assistant coach at FDU-Madison.

She was a team MVP and a two-year captain at NCAA Division I FDU-Teaneck from 2004 through 2006. She transferred to FDU-Teaneck following two years at Binghamton University.

“I have known Patty Clarke for over 10 years,” Whitley stated, “so when offered the opportunity to coach alongside her, I jumped at it. We have very similar coaching styles and I look forward to this opportunity to work with a great coach.”

The Carle Place, NY, native began her softball coaching career as an assistant coach at Pascack Hills High School in 2008.

At Carle Place High School, Whitley was an all-state in both softball and volleyball, earning four letters in each sport for the Frogs. Selected as the school’s best all-around female athlete as a senior in 2001, she was a four-year captain and team MVP in each sport.

Whitley earned a bachelor of arts in criminal justice, graduating Magna Cum Laude, in 2006 from FDU-Teaneck.

She currently works as a corrections officer at the Essex County Correctional Facility.

Whitley still plays some volleyball and likes riding horses and spending time with her dogs.
