Megan Schaffer

Megan Schaffer is in her first season as an assistant coach with the Rutgers University-Newark softball program.
 
Schaffer was a standout Division I softball player at St. Peter's University and Manhattan College, graduating as a Jasper in May of 2006.
 
The Pompton Plains, N.J. native is currently the Assistant Director in the Bloomfield Recreation Department, responsible for planning, development and promotion of programs and activities including sports camps, league development, special events and summer camps/clinics. She oversees all staff, payroll, billing and registration numbers, assisting in yearly budget reviews and requests in addition to supervising the maintenance and upkeep of all records and files. Schaffer also schedules facility use for all programs, overseeing maintenance and improvement projects for Bloomfield's eight recreation facilities.
Additionally, she is the owner of Absolute Strength & Conditioning, LLC, designing programs for clients to achieve fitness goals and developing sport-specific regimens for trainees. 
She is also an assistant coach with NJ Heist Gold Softball, working with the head coach to manage and conduct practices, oversee all strength & conditioning workouts and coordinating fundraising, scheduling and organization of the team's yearly tournament.
Prior to her time with NJ Heist, she was an assistant coach with the Bloomfield High School softball team, helping in all aspects of the program.
