Eni Honsberger

  • Title
    Assistant Coach
Joining the Rutgers-Newark staff for the 2013-14 season is former Scarlet Raider standout Eni Fageyinbo Honsberger who was one of five recruits in 2004 that turned the Scarlet Raider program into a perennial winner for head coach Kevin Morris.

The 2004-05 Rutgers-Newark Female Rookie of the Year, Honsberger has coached at Berkeley College in Woodland Park and Parsippany Hills High School since her graduation from Rutgers-Newark in 2008.

Honsberger, Sabrina Sanchez, Nerlande Nicolas, Toni Roselli and Stephanie Ross combined to help lift Rutgers-Newark to four straight winning seasons and four consecutive visits to the New Jersey Athletic Conference and ECAC Metro Championships tournaments – an unprecedented accomplishment for the program.

A four-year starter, she battled chronic ankle problems to serve as an offensive catalyst. Honsberger piled up 914 points, 517 rebounds, 200 steals and 180 assists while making 215 of 350 free throw attempts. She ranks first in the Morris Era (13 seasons) in steals, free throws made and free throws attempted while trailing only Sanchez in points.

She is married to former Rutgers-Newark men’s volleyball standout Brian Honsberger.
