The rise of the Scarlet Raider program under Kevin Morris can be linked directly to the addition of James Bagli to his staff in 2002.
His value to the program as recognized in April of 2012 when he was promoted to associate head coach.
A salesman by trade, Bagli has worked in Northern New Jersey for several companies as a representative since graduating from college.
The Boonton resident has burned up the roads of New Jersey as a recruiter and a scout as the Scarlet Raiders have gone from the cellar to post-season play in seven of the last eight seasons.
Bagli and Morris met through their fathers who each taught and coached high school sports in the Morris County school system. Their friendship led to Morris offering Bagli his first coaching position.
Along with Theresa Hrubash, Bagli gives Rutgers-Newark a focused, steady staff behind Morris.
Bagli lettered three times at Mountain Lakes before graduating in 1987. He earned his bachelor's degree in marketing from Kutztown University in 1991.
