Kerin Roche

Kerin Roche joined the Rutgers University-Newark women’s basketball coaching staff as a graduate assistant coach in August of 2015. She will assist in all aspects of the program.

Roche played collegiate basketball at Harcum College and West Virginia University Institute of Technology, receiving scholarships at both stops. She earned her Associate’s Degree from Harcum, and her Bachelor’s Degree from WVU Tech.

The Montvale, N.J. native has coached at a variety of places and levels, spending seven years working with the New Jersey Sparks in Paterson, N.J. as a director, head coach and assistant coach. She had a hand in all practice planning and scheduling, teaching Sparks' players offensive and defensive sets, skill work, fundamentals, strength training and conditioning. Roche organized scouts and game-planning, also handling equipment, major events and more.

While pursuing an MBA from New Mexico Highlands University, Roche worked as the Director of Operations for the softball program, doing a great deal of work with video, community service, fundraising and major events. She was the top girl’s basketball assistant at Teaneck High School from September of 2011 through March of 2013, playing a major role in all aspects of practices, conditioning, weight training and more, doing a lot scouting and film breakdown as well.

Roche spent several seasons at Hoop Heaven in Waldwick, N.J., working with youth girls in grades 5-8, working with both boys and girls during the summer months. She also worked camps in Rockland County, N.Y. with all ages of youth basketball players.
