Jackson joined the Scarlet Raiders in 2022 as an assistant coach of the Rutgers University-Newark women's basketball team.

Raised in Essex County (Irvington & Newark) Coach Lance attended Irvington & Westside High Schools (1986-1990/91)
 
Rated as one of the top players in the Tri-State area, Coach Lance earned LA Gear/BCI All-America Honors as a Senior. As a member of the Newark Rams AAU Program (under esteemed Coaching Legends Brian Crawford and Bill Wimberly), Coach Lance became one of the top players in the country.
 
1991-1993: Coach Lance attended the #1 Junior College in the country, College of Southern Idaho. While at CSI Coach Lance earned All-America Honors from publications such as Street & Smith, The Sporting News, Basketball Digest and other publications.
 
Coach Lance started at Point Guard for the National Powerhouse which set the all-time record for most consecutive home wins by any college, on any level (Division 1,2, 3, NAIA, etc.), with 137 straight wins. A record that still stands to date. Coach Lance averaged 10 points, 8 assists, 3 steals as a Freshman for a Golden Eagle team that finished ranked #1 in the nation, as well as a semi-finalist at the National Junior College Tournament (NJCAA) in Hutchinson, Kansas.
 
Due to injury, Coach Lance redshirted as a Sophomore. After graduating in 1993, Coach Lance signed his National Letter of Intent to play for New Mexico State University.
 
1993-1994: Coach Lance attended New Mexico State University where he played Point Guard for the Big West Conference Champion Aggies. Coach Lance was named Big West Player of the Week for his outstanding performances against inner state rival, the University of New Mexico (Lobos). The Aggies had a great season, winning the Big West Tournament Championship (dethroning Big West Powerhouse, UNLV Runnin’ Rebels), and went on to play in the NCAA Tournament.
 
1994-1995: Coach Lance then transferred to The University of Northern Colorado where he was named Newcomer of the Year, All Conference, All Region, top 3 in scoring in the conference and led the league in assists and steals.
 
Following the season Coach Lance elected to pursue his dreams of playing professionally. He went on to play in various professional sports leagues such as the ABA, USBL, CBA and had brief stints with the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets. Instead of continuing his career by going overseas, Coach Lance decided to follow his dream of Mentoring, Coaching and training at risk youth.
 
After working with kids in every capacity from Juvenile Corrections to Mentoring to Coaching, Coach Lance went on to create The Team Triple Threat Foundation for kids. A Nonprofit Organization that teaches kids Life-Skills through Academics, Mentorship & Sports. Coach Lance is a devoted leader in his community and currently serves as a Supervisor for the City of Linden’s Department of Recreation. He also organizes a multitude programs and initiatives in various communities in the Tri-State areas such as Health Fairs, Exercise Programs, Toy Drives, Back to School Events, Feed the Homeless initiatives, Tutoring programs, Community Day Programs, etc. (to name a few).
 
Coach Lance feels that his mission in life was to be a servant of God and to help others. So he takes that assignment very seriously, and is extremely humbled to be able to assist others in any way he can.
