Laurin Mincy

Laurin Mincy joined the Rutgers University-Newark women's basketball staff in 2021. Mincy graduated from Maryland University in August 2015 with a Bachelor's degree in Social Science. During her time with the Terps she was a team captain all four years and earned a slew of awards. Mincy was named 2012 ACC Honorable Mention, 2015 All Big Ten Conference 2nd Team, and was a 2015 WNBA Draft Pick to the New York Liberty. 

From there, Mincy went on to play for Ramat Hasharon, a professional basketball team in Israel. There she helped the team to a 3rd place finish in the Premier League where she earned the 2015 Newcomer of the Year award. While with Ramat Hasharon, she assisted in camps and worked in local schools to coach youth basketball programs. She demonstrated commitment and responsibility towards teammates and coaches through genuine respect and dedication to the game. 

In August of 2017 Mincy joined Townsville Fire in Queensland, Australia. Mincy made an immediate impact on the team and in 2018 was Top-5 in three pointers made and won the Australian Women's League Championship. In 2019 she was named the Most Improved Player. She became an integral part of the Townsville community by conducting interviews with media, participating in promotions and events for sponsors, and conducting youth basketball clinics throughout Townsville. 

In March of 2019 Mincy moved into a coaching role for the Matawan Regional High School women's basketball team. In the same month, she started FORTHELOVE which is a startup basketball program. Mincy, the CEO, recruited athletes to join the program by attending summer league games, tournaments and community events. She created a positive learning environment through individual and team sessions with a focus on fundamentals and mentally processing the game of basketball as well as fitness training. 

More recently, Mincy joined the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a Replay Operator Referee Operations. There she evaluated and analyzed player performance that affects possible outcomes during the game while tracking and tagging plays of interest in Everts Video System. She accurately documented potential replay situations while monitoring multiple camera angles during live games while also crating thorough game reports for submission to her supervisor.
