Shanil Auguste, is majoring in Psychology with a pre-health minor, represents Maplewood, NJ, and attended Columbia High School. Standing at 6'1", Shanil excels as a thrower in Track and Field, specializing in shotput, discus, weight throw, and hammer throw. Outside of athletics, Shanil enjoys watching movies and TV show reruns, as well as spending quality time with family. Her diverse tastes include favorite movies like "SpongeBob the Movie" and "Riddick," with an appreciation for all types of food. She admires actor Will Smith and actress Angelina Jolie, while her favorite athlete is Camryn Rogers, a Canadian hammer thrower. Shanil chose Rutgers University-Newark for its proximity to home and the welcoming environment fostered by Coach Stone, who played a significant role in making her feel like part of the team before she even joined. Shanil's parents, Gerald Auguste and Shirley Antoine, didn't play sports in college, but her father was a versatile athlete back in Haiti, excelling in basketball, soccer, volleyball, and swimming. As Shanil progresses through his college journey, she hopes his coaches and teammates will remember her for her attitude, outlook on life, and the journey she undertook during her time at Rutgers University-Newark.
