The person handling the details of administration for the Rutgers-Newark Athletic Department is Mary Stadelmann.

With rules and regulations experience at both the NCAA Division I and III level, she provides a breadth of knowledge which is invaluable to the only institution in the NCAA which sponsors an NCAA Division I men’s volleyball program within the framework of an overall Division III (non-scholarship) department.

Stadelmann joined the campus community in July 2001 as Associate Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator. Stadelmann adds experience and focus to the Scarlet Raiders with her extensive background in intercollegiate athletic administration and strong knowledge of NCAA compliance procedures. She served as Acting Director of Athletics and Recreation during the 2003-2004 fiscal year following the unexpected death of veteran Director of Athletics John K. Adams in October of 2003.

She has distinguished herself during her campus tenure. Stadelmann has been a member of the New Jersey Athletic Conference Board of Athletic Administrators since her appointment, and she is a past president of that body. She served for three years as an administrative liaison to the NJAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. She is also a past president of the New Jersey Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (NJAIAW) and has served on the Executive Committee for the Collegiate Athletic Administrators of New Jersey (CAANJ).

Stadelmann is one of three athletic staff members who serve as an academic advisor through the Dean of Student Services office.

Prior to coming to Rutgers, Stadelmann worked for St. Peter’s College, serving in several major positions. During her decade of service to the college, she served as the academic athletic coordinator before being promoted to the position of Assistant Academic Dean. Stadelmann rose to the position of Associate Director of Athletics. She served on the NCAA Certification Self-Study Steering Committee and Academic Integrity Subcommittee for the National Collegiate Athletic Association as well as the Middle States Accreditation Self-Study Steering Committee.

Stadelmann holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Iona College and a Master of Arts degree in Education with a Sports Management concentration from the University of Connecticut.
