MAHWAH, NJ – Rutgers-Newark won its 19th game of the season, swamping Ramapo, 61-42, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game in classic fashion – with defense and balanced scoring.

Everyone played and everyone scored for the Scarlet Raiders (19-5, NJAC 8-4) who were led by senior guard Sabrina Sanchez with nine points. The Roadrunners (4-19, NJAC 0-11) remained winless in the conference with just two games remaining.

Rutgers-Newark is now just one win away from tying the 1985-86 women's basketball team for the most victories in a season.  The Raiders were 20-2 under Nancy Miraldi that season.

Senior reserve forward Toni Roselli hit two of five shots from beyond the arc on her way to eight points while senior forward Eni Fageyinbo had a game-high eight rebounds to go along with six points, two steals and two assists.

The Raiders maintained a one-game edge in the loss column over Montclair State in the race for the second seed in the North Division for the upcoming NJAC Championship Tournament.

Rutgers-Newark closes out its season on Saturday, hosting division-leading William Paterson in The Golden Dome on Senior Night. The women tip off at 5:30 p.m. with the men to follow at 7:30.
