NEWARK, NJ – Kean netted three second-half goals as the Cougars used superior depth to hand Rutgers-Newark a 4-0 New Jersey Athletic Conference defeat on Alumni Field.

Kat Renteria made six saves for the Scarlet Raiders, but Kean forged a 25-5 advantage in shots and earned a slim 2-1 edge in corner kicks. The Cougars used 22 players while the Raiders played just 13 for the contest.

Kean (6-4-4, NJAC 3-2-2) took a 1-0 halftime lead on a 25 yard blast by senior midfielder Jenna Godwin on a nifty back pass from from the right of the box by junior forward Samantha Ciccone in the 13th minute.
Sophomore forward Danielle Esposito sandwiched goals around a loose ball putaway by junior forward Randi Vizoco during a 13-minute outburst by Kean in the second period which broke open the contest.
Junior goalkeeper Leandra Russo got the shut out by notching a save in each half for Kean.
Rutgers-Newark now has a full week to prepare for an NJAC battled against league-leading Rowan on Alumni Field at 7 p.m. on October 24. It will be Senior Night for Huber and defender
