NEWARK, NJ -- William Paterson upended Richard Stockton, 1-0, in Wayne Thursday night to give Rutgers-Newark the fourth-seed in the New Jersey Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Championship Tournament and a home date against Stockton.

The Scarlet Raiders will take on the Ospreys at 1 p.m. on Alumni Field in the first NJAC playoff game in Rutgers-Newark history.

Tickets are $5 general admission and $2 for senior citizens (65 and older), students and children (12 and younger).

Rutgers-Newark student presenting a valid University I.D. at the gate will be admitted free of charge.

With the victory, William Paterson edged out Rutgers-Camden for the fifth and final playoff slot.  The Pioneers will travel to third-seeded Rowan for an opening round match on Saturday. 

The winner of the Raiders-Ospreys contest will advance to face three-time defending NJAC Champion Montclair State on Sprague Field in Montclair at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.  The WPU-Rowan winner goes to second-seeded College of New Jersey on the same day.

The championship match which offers an automatic berth to the NCAA D-III Championship Tournament will be played on the home field of the highest surviving seed on Saturday, November 7.
