Rachel Witt had eight kills apiece, but Centenary spoiled the Scarlet Raiders' season opener, 3-1. Set scores were 25-17, 21-25, 25-9, 25-17.

After dropping the opening set, Witt and Moppert led the way as the Raiders posted nine kills to level the score at a set apiece. But R-N (0-1), which dressed just six players, could not maintain the momentum against the Cyclones (1-0).
Moppert notched 12.5 points with by delivering four of the Raiders' seven aces and adding an assisted block. She also came up with a team-high 10 digs. Witt totalled 11 points by chipping in two aces and a solo block to go along with her eight kills.
Junior setter
Gabi Mangieri collected 18 assists and three kills while junior middle blocker
Na-Keta Michael tallied five kills, a service ace and an assisted block.
Jelena Markovic paced the Cyclones with 11 kills, a dozen assists and 10 digs while libero
Kelsey Walter posted a match-high 18 digs.
Kelly Zegarowitz deliverd a match-high five kills to help push the Centenary total to 15.
Rutgers-Newark visits Vassar Wednesday night at 7 p.m. for another non-conference battle.
