Liana Abreu netted a pair of goals as Rutgers-Newark downed CCNY, 4-0, in a non-conference match on Randall's Island.

Kat Renteria and
Danielle Griscom combined for the shutout with reserve Griscom notching the only save necessary during her 13-minute finishing stint.
The Scarlet Raiders (6-8-3) out-shot the Beavers (1-15), 41-4, and only a 15-save performance by CCNY goalkeeper Rebecca Arce kept the score close. Rutgers-Newark scored all of their goals in the opening period while taking 25 shots.
Freshman midfielder
Tia Miller scored the opening goal and game winner in the 15th minute before Abreu netted her 10th and 11th markers of the season in the 24th and 39th minutes. Junior midfielder
Stefani Uthman assisted on Abreu's second goal. Miller's goal was the first of her career.
Senior forward
Karen Johnson netted the final goal with just 2:06 left in the opening period on an assist from freshman defender
Diana Catarino.
Abreu's tallies gave her 30 for her career, tying her with Alison Phillips (2004-07) for second on the all-time R-N list, while upping her career point total to 74. Her 11 goals this season ties the fifth best total in the 11-year history of the program and equalled her output of last season. Her 24 points tie her with Jenna Weiss (2003) for the 10th on the single season list.

Angela Neves will be honored during pre-game ceremonies on Senior Night at 7 p.m. on Saturday on Alumni Field when Rutgers-Newark hosts William Paterson in a New Jersey Athletic Conference battle in the Raiders' final home match of the season.
