In the opening match win over Purchase, Witt delivered a career-high 12 aces while notching a double-double by adding 10 kills as the Raiders cruised to the victory. Game scores were 25-12, 25-13, 25-19.
Freshman setter
Jen Mendoza collected 20 assists and Nieznalska collected a match-high 10 digs for Rutgers-Newark.
Rebecca Dittler paced Purchase (1-3) with 5.5 points on three kills, an ace, a solo block and an assisted block while Michelle Fetky had four kills.
In the nightcap win over York NY, Nieznalska roped a team individual season high 14 aces while adding six kills and six digs to lead a 25-7, 25-18, 27-25 sweep of the Cardinals (2-6).
Witt chipped in nine kills, hitting .412 (9 kills, 2 errors, 17 attempts) to help the Raiders (4-7) hit .197 as a squad.
Senior setter
Gabi Mangieri collected 18 assists while adding an ace and a team-high seven digs.
Freshman outside hitter Maria Suero-Santos had six points on three kills and three aces for York.
Rutgers-Newark travels to Kean on Tuesday at 7 p.m. for a New Jersey Athletic Conference match.
