GLASSBORO, NJ – Each side had plenty of chances, but Rutgers-Newark and Rowan settled for a scoreless double-overtime tie in New Jersey Athletic Conference play.

Jonathan Frances and Prof sophomore Ryan Gill made 10 saves each in the battle to create the stalemate. It was the sixth shutout of the season for Frances (9-5-1) who helped offset a 23-18 deficit in shots and a 10-4 disadvantage in corner kicks with his play.
The tie kept both Rutgers-Newark (10-5-1, NJAC 3-2-1) and Rowan (7-4-3, NJAC 3-2-2) in the thick of the race for one of six berths in the NJAC Championship playoffs.
Frances stopped shots by Rowan's Jared Mangone and Julian Berrios in the final six minutes of the match while Gill turned away attempts by Raider freshmen
Diego Moraes in the 102nd minute and
Conor Johnston in the 108th minute.
Rutgers-Newark visits Stevens (11-2) on Tuesday for a non-conference showdown before hosting William Paterson at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday in a key NJAC match.
