NEWARK, NJ – Rutgers-Newark fell to a balanced Hunter College attack, 3-0, in a non-conference match in The Golden Dome.

Senior middle blocker
Rachel Witt had match highs of 14.5 points and 11 kills, but she was the only Scarlet Raider to reach double-digits in either category against the Hawks (7-5). She also added nine digs, two solo blocks and an assisted block to her line for the night.
Senior right side
Stephanie Touzan had a team-high three aces to go along with three kills while junior outside hitter
Paulina Walega contributed five kills and 13 digs.
Junior setter
Jen Mendoza recorded a team-high 15 digs while registering a just 18 assists as the Raiders (6-6) totaled only 25 kills. Freshman middle blocker
Sharee Gordon hit .571 with four kills and no errors on seven swings.
Sophomore libero
Kandace Lewis missed the match with flu symptons and junior
Beatrice Loiseau filled in with seven digs.
Sophomore opposite Taylor Kordich paced Hunter with eight kills, three aces and two assisted blocks while senior outside hitter Kimberly Hirten also had eight kills plus 17 digs. Sophomore outside hitter Lucia Stosic helped the Hawks control the net by getting in on five blocks while notching six kills.
Rutgers-Newark hosts Rowan in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match on Tuesday at 7 p.m. before traveling to Kean on Thursday for another league contest.
