COBLESKILL, N.Y. - Freshman outside hitter Sydney Tuman paced Rutgers University-Newark with eight kills while adding 10 digs, but Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts downed the Scarlet Raiders, 3-0, in the SUNY Cobleskill Invitational. Game scores were 25-17, 25-22, 25-21 as the Raiders slipped to 16-10 overall while the Trailblazers improved to 14-11.

Sophomore defensive specialist Kathy Hormaza came up with a match-high 20 digs while freshman setter Karolina Kopacz finished with 17 assists, 14 digs, five kills and a blocking assist.

Sophomore outside hitter Adrianna Pagnotta and freshman middle blocker Detra Glover posted three kills apiece. Pagnotta, who chipped in eight digs, and sophomore right side Hannah Riede delivered the Raiders' two aces. Freshman outside hitter Rebecca Ford finished with eight digs, a kill, a solo block and a blocking assist.

Freshman setter Rebecca Godbout led the Trailblazers with 23 assists, six kills, two aces, a solo block, a blocking assist and eight digs. Middle hitters Samantha Anderson and Margaret Allen each notched six kills and a solo block for MCLA.

Rutgers-Newark plays its regular-season finale at William Paterson on Tuesday at 7 p.m. with the last of six New Jersey Athletic Conference Championship Tournament berths going to the winner.
